12 Days of Christmas: Day Two

Day Two: Folded Christmas Cards + Two Free Designs

Today’s post, like many that will follow, can go three directions: personal, professional, or a blend of both. I’ll do my best to try to think of everything under the sun to help you, but you’re likely smarter than I am (and more creative) so feel free to take these ideas and run with them.

Let’s talk about Christmas Cards. Do you send out Christmas Cards? One thing I automatically think when I receive a Christmas card from a family is: “man, they’ve really got it together.” I mean, in the thick of everything that is going on this year, they were able to whip up a cute Christmas cards, address a stack of envelopes, buy a bucketload of stamps and get them out the door. The earlier I receive this card, the more impressed I am. Wouldn’t you like your clients to think that about you? Heck yeah! That’s why every year for the past 5 years (at least), I’ve sent a Christmas card to every single client.

(this Christmas Card is done on the super cool 5×5 tri-fold cards)

But remember, I’m doing this to make money, not blow it. So these Christmas cards include a rockin’ pic of my family and me (to show off mad skills), they include my logo (to drive home branding), and they also include a personal message. That’s the part that takes the longest! Thankfully, I have a wonderful business partner and fiancee who rocks at this. 🙂 I want my clients to feel special and thought of, and I want them to book me again next year. This is one of the beginning steps in that process.

MpixPro has introduced Luxe cards, which are pretty jaw-dropping, but I have other uses for those. For my Christmas card, I like the folded card that stands on its own so my clients can easily place it on their mantle with others. I also get the 5×7 so it stands out a bit for other, lesser cards. 😉 If $$ is an issue, you can go the smaller route, or even a 4×6 print route.

The same Christmas card is sent to my friends and family. Sure, I know it has my logo, but I don’t want them to forget that their job in helping me succeed is to constantly tell everyone they know about me. Oh, and don’t forget to send them to vendors! During the engagement/proposal season – December-February – I want to stay in my favorite vendors’ heads as much as possible! Throwing that logo on the front of the card will help you advertise if they display it in their place of business. That’s just smart.

Now, I promised free things. And here you go. Just leave a comment below and I’ll email you two free Christmas card designs (layered psd files)!

Happy 12 days of Christmas!
